Easy
Raising and lowering are a simple pull or release of the line of the block and tackle. The engine slides up and down on a simple rail system.

Improved Performance
We made the framework sturdy and large enough to allow the motor to be easily lifted well above the sheer of the boat and clear of the water and waves when it is not in use. The powerful multi-purchase block and tackle make lifting and lowering the motor easy enough so that the smallest person on the boat can do it.
The small motor mount brackets that are available elsewhere are hard to use and will not lift the motor above the sheer of the boat when in the up position. This means that the motor is subject to periodic inundation by waves if left on the stern while sailing or motoring. This often means that your auxiliary motor will be wet and will not start when it is needed.

Less Maintenance
The simple construction of the MAYERS MOTOR MOUNTTM and the use of high quality marine grade materials means you don't need any extra cleaning or lubrication supplies for it. Its simple and elegant pragmatic design means ease of operation. A simple rinse with fresh water and a wipe down that you do on the rest of your stainless steel fixtures is all that is needed for proper maintenance.

Safer
Because of the design of the MAYERS MOTOR MOUNTTM you operate it from the cockpit. You don't have to go hang over the stern of the vessel, risking falling overboard or getting caught in the mechanics of other lift systems. This is appreciated most when you are needing to operate the lift in heavy seas.
Also, because of the location and shape of the motor mount and it's tubular Stainless Steel construction, it makes a great ladder to get out of the water and into the boat. It's open frame construction and location near the water make it easy to climb up on to get back in the boat.
